The Pizza Craziness
So I’ve had a break in posting because I recently moved. One of the early days while at the new apartment my fiancée and I felt like not cooking and instead getting a Pizza. Living in Michigan there is always a cheap and easy route with the local $5 hot and ready however we wanted to go for the often delicious Pizza hut. I really enjoy ordering from Pizza Hut because they’re always improving their website and I think of all the pizza places they have the process of ordering a pizza online down pat. It’s quick, easy, and I don’t have to wait on hold while listening to some random message or even worse some radio station someone ELSE has selected for me as the hold music.
So we ordered our food and we waited over an hour… which was fine. The website said it’d be about an hour. The duder shows up and hands me some stuff. I sign for my pizza and he leaves. I then realize I’m missing half the food. We check the pizzas and their slung about in the box and they’re cold. Normally I’m not one to complain but I dropped $40 (including the tip) on food that I didn’t get and the stuff I did get was horrible quality. I’ve never had any issues with Pizza Hut so I called. They said they’d replace everything that was wrong. The basically replaced the order. We waited and received the new order in about another half hour. When we finally started eating.. we both immediately got sick.
I took a survey on the back of the reciept and unleashed my extreme anger on it’s small boxes. At the end I realized no one would probably care from the survey… so I went on to their site and submitted my experience and to my surprise I got a call the next day. They said they credited my whole order and it would be waiting for me whenever I decided to try them again. I asked if I could use the credit online because that was my preferred way of ordering pizza. The manager stated it was fine and that it was all linked by phone number. Again I thought “wow, these guys really have it down pat with their online offering!” I excitedly ordered from them again tonight.. when I got to the check out however… it asked me for a credit card and being a programmer I was like “hmm.. maybe it just needs it but wont charge anything once we get to the confirmation page..” I was wrong. It charged me the whole thing again. I quickly gave them a phone call and I was told the following:
“Oh, store credits are only good in the store!” I replied, “That’s not what your manager said… she said I could use it online just fine.” The rep replied, “oh, that’s a new one…” and I go “ok, so can you cancel the charges and just apply the credit?” she takes my phone number and says “oh there’s no credit on here…” and I go “uhh.. no I was told twice (the manager called 2x) that there was a $40 credit on my account..” “hold please” I wait and she finally comes back “ok I added the credit for next time.” I replied, “no, I’d like it this time please.” she response “I can’t do that.” I tell her “ok, well I wouldn’t have ordered it if I was going to have to pay… cancel the whole order and I’ll eat something else” Quickly her manager gets on and fixes it. I was told I still have an $8 credit but I’m pretty doubtful that’ll happen. I haven’t really ever had problems but the store out by my new crib seems to be having SERIOUS issues. Anyways, thought i’d share the crazy time… overall Pizza hut did make the situation right and I have to commend them on that… Few places would go to the trouble. I’ll probably stick with them every now and then… but I’m still sort of scared of what may happen with my next order. I’ll keep you posted.
